Who I Am

Emily Chaisson is a Chinese-Canadian filmmaker, specializing in post-production. She first discovered her love for filmmaking when making shorts with friends at a young age and never really stopped. She is now a third-year student at NSCAD University, where she continues to explore filmmaking and storytelling through editing and other aspects of the film industry.

Emily is inspired by the small, ordinary moments in life that often get overlooked. Her work centers around finding meaning in quiet or slower moments, showing how they can be just as powerful and thought-provoking as bigger and exciting moments. She likes to think of her work as the filmmaking version of street photography, capturing life as it is and finding beauty in the simple things.
